It's All About Cars

Late last year, our car got wrecked. We had an accident when we were on our way to my sister's wedding in Denver. We got cut off by a truck and crashed into the concrete retaining wall of the bridge. Fortunately, both my hubby and I did not get seriously injured. We got some bumps and bruises but no long term problems. It was the first car accident the I had ever experienced. Our car got totaled and we ended up renting a car in order to be able to make it to the wedding and back home. It was a long drive for us and while still on the road, we had plenty of time to talked about what kind of car we would buy next. As soon as we got home we visited several different car dealerships nearby and online websites looking for good deals.

Apartments for Rent

I haven't had much experience with moving and finding places to rent. I lived at home until I went to college. When I went to college I was fortunate enough to have an aunt who had a room to rent nearby the college I attended. When I got married and moved here to the US, my husband already owned his own home. Consequently, I'm not familiar with the hassles involved with finding good rental property.

On the other hand, my husband, before he bought the home we now live in, has had many experiences of moving and renting. He has had some good experiences, some bad experiences and some really ugly experiences. Over the years he learned to be quite skeptical and cautious when choosing rental property. Moving is usually a big hassle so it is much easier to find a good place and stay a while rather than moving from place to place often. Like everything else in the world involving people, there are good and bad landlords. In the past, it has often been difficult to differentiate between the two.

Finding apartments for rent has become so much easier now with the advent of the internet. There are websites available where apartment seekers can type in all the relevant information including location, price, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and every other detail that you can think of. The information on the websites often include photos, and other pertinent information that can help the renter simplify his search for a place to live enormously.

The website, Move.com, even gives tips on moving, leasing, and reading the fine print in rental agreements. My husband says that he wished that kind of help would have been available to him when he was young man. It would have save him lots of headaches and extra moves.

Home for the First Time

It is only a few more days to go before I will be celebrating the fourth anniversary of my arrival here in the US. It seems like it was just yesterday when I got off the plane. My hubby told me this morning that I will have been here in the US for almost four years now and I still haven't threatened to go back to the Philippines yet :). If it wasn't for my love for him, I would have gone back long ago. It is his love that is keeping me here, despite my longing to be with my family. As of now, we don't have any plans for how are we going to celebrate my "home for the first time" anniversary :). We will think about it in the next few days. My hubby asked me when I wanted to go to town. I told him that I didn't know yet because I have a lot of things to do on my blogs. I have been given more than a dozen tasks to blog about and I need to strike while the iron is hot.

Seaside Resorts

It is still frigidly cold here up north and for the past three years since I got here in the US, my hubby and I had taken a trip somewhere much warmer during the winter season every year. The spring season is coming up soon but it is still cold here. Even though I have been here in northern Minnesota for almost four years now, I still haven't gotten used to the cold weather. At this time of the year, the southern part of the country has already gotten much warmer. If money hadn't been an issue for us lately, we would probably have taken another trip to a warmer climate this year.

I have never been to South Carolina yet but I would like to visit it if given a chance. We are looking at the possibility of staying at some Myrtle Beach Resorts next year. I have checked it online and found that it is the kind of place where I would get the combination of comfort, convenience and the fun of a beach side vacation. On top of that, at Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts, I would be able to play a few rounds of golf. I have never golfed before but I would like to give it a try.

Are you planning on taking your family on a vacation? If so, check out Beach Resorts Myrtle Beach online.

Shop! Shop! Shop!

I like shopping. It is one of my favorite things to do. It is also my antidote, especially if the weather here in the north country isn't kind to me. I am talking about when it is cold, rainy and gloomy like now. Who doesn't like shopping anyway (men)? Women in particular love to shop.

I already have everything that I need, thanks to my hubby providing, but I still go shopping for clothes, shoes, and other accessories. I like to follow women fashion trends, even though I don't have the money to buy everything I would like. I go to stores or visit online shopping sites and do window shopping. Then when the time comes that our budget permits, I go back to the sites where I found good deals and buy what I was eyeing. There are some consequences though because sometimes what I have been eyeing is either sold out or the price has gone up.

One of the shopping sites where you can find anything and everything for sale is ShopWiki. I have been a regular visitor to their website but haven't bought anything from them yet. My hubby discourages me from buying clothes online because I often find that I'm not happy with them when they arrive but we usually buy our office supplies, computers, ink cartridges and books online.
